Rear-Facing Child Car Seats

Keep your child in a rear-facing child car seat until they outgrow the weight or height limit of the seat. A rear-facing child car seat supports and protects your child’s head and spine in the event of a crash.

Types of Rear-facing Seats

Rear-facing child car seats have weight and height limits that vary depending on the make, model and type. Choose a rear-facing child car seat that:

  • Fits securely in your vehicle
  • Is appropriate for your child's weight and height

Remember:

  • Always follow your child car seat instructions and vehicle owner’s manual
  • Never place a rear-facing child car seat in front of an active air bag
